I'm not going to sugar coat the current condition of the Transportation Fund, It's a mess and there aren't any easy or popular answers. The fund is hundreds of millions of dollars in a pot hole. We have transportation projects that are important to complete, both for our economy and the safety of our drivers, but to pay for it we need to raise revenues or cut projects neither of which is popular but is the reality.

The Transportation Fund is now a segregated fund, meaning the monies paid from you with the gas tax, registration and other fees, are to only be used for transportation projects. Therefore, we need to stop kicking the can down the road and tackle our transportation fund needs head- on this next legislative session. No more excuses, no more excessive borrowing.
